The Observer is our most popular line of student compound microscopes because it has so many fine features for such a low price!  This microscope comes with a variety of options making it possible for you to customize the microscope to fit your needs.  It will meet the needs of your elementary students as well as your high school students.  Using the 360° rotating head, everyone can have a peek without turning the whole microscope around!  Includes both the coarse and fine focus knobs (which are important when working at higher powers).  Here are the options you can choose from:

MODEL:  The Observer compound microscope comes in two models: the Observer III and the Observer IV.  The two microscopes are virtually identical except for the objective lenses.  The Oserver III comes with three parfocal and parcentric, achromatic objectives: 4X, 10X, and 40XR (it comes with a 4-hole nosepiece so that you can add a 100XR oil immersion objective later).  The Observer IV comes with the same three objectives plus it comes standard with the 100XR oil immersion objective.

HEAD:  The Observer comes standard with a monocular head, but also has a teaching head and binocular head available.  The Teaching head is perfect for allowing two people to view a specimen at once or allows you to add an eyepiece camera to the microscope.  The bonocular head is perfect for more advanced students.

ILLUMINATION:  The Observer has four options for the light source: Tungsten (incandescent), Fluorescent (very low heat...will keep your pond specimens alive), and Halogen (this is what the pros use), and the new MOBI bright white LED illumination.  The MOBI is cordless and is perfect for field use.   All Observer microscopes come with an attachable mirror for field use.

STAGE:  The observer comes with a 122mm x 120mm stage.   It comes standard with stage clips, but comes pre-drilled for an attachable mechanical stage (can be purchased separately).  To give your microscope more professional features, select the Plus stage.  The Plus stage comes not only with built-in mechanical stage, but upgrades your focus controls to coaxial controls.   This is well worth the investment if you are serious about microscopy.
